TRIFE & D-MOB - GUN TOWN'S FINEST LP - 1996 HIGH WIRE RECORDS

Most of you have probably heard of this LP. It was released in 1996 on High Wire Records by Trife & D-Mob, who happen to be brothers. All the tracks on this LP were produced by Tony Sturdivant. In 1995 Trife made his debut with his So What? EP and 2 years after this LP was released, D-Mob dropped the Hot Dayz EP. Both of those 12"s are on High Wire Records as well. This is a really dope LP all around. My favorite tracks are Illest Type Flow, Gun Towns Finest, and Runnin From The Mob. Enjoy the rip and leave some commments!

I've always really liked this record, mainly because of the productions. The tracks on this record were produced by Da Phathedz. Da Phathedz produced another dope indie vinyl in the mid 90's. That record is known as Da Naba Hood Goodz & Treats. That EP is mainly instrumentals but one of the tracks, For The Year, features Tera Lo and is a really dope cut. I don't really know to much about Nu-Seed but I know they are from NYC and I'm pretty sure they are a 2 man crew. Well here's my rip for you guys enjoy it and leave a comment.

So for my first post I picked this record out. Jay Sun NYC released this dope 12" sometime in the mid 90's. I know the video for Ain't Havin' It was put out in '96 so I'm guessing this record was released in '95 or '96. All the tracks were produced by Fredd Rico and Jay Sun for 5x5 Productions. Both Ain't Havin It and Ill Trip are really dope songs. There are 3 mixes of Ain't Havin It, I prefer The Jeep Mix. So check the files out and let me know what you think!

My last post will be that N.o.t.s. Click i finally found, the dopest 12" from the crew, sadly very hard to find those days.
Both joints produced by Shok, "keep ya eyes open" is nice but my fav' is
"i pak steel", a dangerous track which can be mix very easily, and the result is always dope (i'm thinking of "jr ewing-independance war" mixtape or "venum-diggin' in the underground vol.1").

SEARCHING...

Hi all,

I'm searching for some new contributors to this blog. The reason is i will not be able to post during one year -at least-, cause i'm joining the french army in September and i know i will travel a lot.

This is important to me to know that this blog will not die after my leaving. I worked a lot on it and tryied to put all my love for the indies in it, so i hope some will be interest.

My successor will post vinyls and only vinyls regulary (1 per week at least) and will keep the blog public. He must know writing in english, like me for an example, so it's not hard ^^

And as Diaz got his own blog and my little "apprentice" Black Stars is still a novice, i'm seaching for someone who got a good knowledge of the indies.

I guess that's all, all my love goes to those who bump this blog regulary and all my supports for the future to the other bloggers : byl, down to erf, time4sumaksion, analects, do not stack, indie cratez,coldrock',rhhb and stacks of flav'.

ALPS CRU - LOUDMOUTHS / THE CONCEPT / NO QUESTION - 2008 BLUE CONCEPT RECORDS

Here is the best rap record released in 2008... haha ... I can say it without taking some risks i think. Propably cause the joints on this wax are some 94' and 95' bombs which have been repressed, or released for the first time ("Loudmouths"). Probably too because Alps Cru was one of the best indie's group in the nineties era.

I'm usually not fan of those artists, who after taking a look at ebay's transactions, digging deep in the bottom of the barrel and trying to make some big money on the back of the 90's rap lovers. Mc Gruff's repressed "demo ep" with One Leg Up Records was a great example of hustling.

But here, with alps, the price was allright, and the record is phat. So thanks to this crew, and please keep it up.

Now that the sales are done, i can share the full rip, for those who didn't had the chance to grab one of the limited 300 copies...Enjoy !

I first heard that bomb Mad Fanatic - Massacre (remix) with a tape rip, out of a va called "random gemz". And believe for some years that was a fuckin' rare & underground shit, but after some search; i came always on that Sharpshooters remixes 12".So i finally bought it.

You got here two remixes, with their instrumentals and one accapella, + one track which i guess is the sample. My best is for sure the one i loved to bump for so many times, the track 2 : Mad Fanatic - Massacre (Hallucination Murder rmx). And now i got the record, i still can tell you that it's a BOMB.

ps : The original version of "Massacre" appears on "Sharpshooters - Buck The Saw EP"

Fuckin’ Backstabber/Soul Intent is a demo tape which the group Soul Intent released in collaboration with DJ Buttafingers in 1995 on Mashin’ Duck Records, the time when Eminem belonged to this group only. The tape consisted of two songs, ‘Fuckin’ Backstabber’ and ‘Biterphobia’ and one skit. The group did not have a lot of money to spend on production, so the two tracks are built primarily on samples of other recordings, particularly ‘Fucking Backstabber’. Since the mid 1990s the group has split up, and Eminem and Proof no longer work with DJ Butterfingers. The demo tape Fuckin’ Backstabber/Soul Intent played an important role in the lives of Eminem, the late Proof, and DJ Buttafingaz, however.

The original tape was pressed at about 100 pressings, and has been auctioned on eBay, selling for around $700, because it is so rare. According to a seller from California he got the tape from Eminem’s mother, and she has ninety-three of them. When Eminem became famous she tried to sell them for seventy-five dollars.
